8 Reasons Why You Should Try Coworking

What is Coworking?

Coworking is a popular way of work where remote workers, freelancers and business owners come together to form a community and work from a shared space.

This offers members an alternative space to work rather than commuting to the office or working from home.

Reunion @ Hub Space is Belper’s first coworking space having opened in May 2022, offering affordable and flexible memberships for local workers.

Our space allows workers to come together in our light and spacious office (based in The Old School House on Chapel Street), to be part of a wider community, whilst still maintaining a professional and focused environment.

Could Coworking be for you?

To help you find out how coworking could change your work life for the better, we have compiled this list of some of the many benefits of working from our space!

1. Increased Productivity

We believe that our light and spacious open-plan office is the perfect place to work. The average person spends one third of their life working – why not work in a calm and creative environment that you enjoy spending time in?

We have a mix of productive space, and collaborative areas, meeting all your work needs. If you feel like a change, we also have an outdoor seating area.

2. Better Work-Life Balance

Having a dedicated workspace can increase productivity, and our flexible memberships means you can manage your time at home versus time at work much better.

Book your desk, and set a routine for your dedicated work hours, improving your work-life boundaries. Leave the distractions of “working from home” at home, and enjoy an undisrupted workspace, with increased concentration and motivation.

We offer a range of memberships to suit everyone from a dedicated desk 5 days a week to pay as you go drop in days, perfect if you’re just travelling through!

3. Joining a Local Community

Being part of a coworking space means being part of the community. Coworking spaces double as community hubs helping to connect people, businesses, and provide opportunities for establishing partnerships or business relationships.

It is a fantastic way to meet and chat to people from different sectors, allowing opportunity for gathering a wider experience and fresh opinions.

Hybrid and remote working have become common place after the pandemic but working from home isn’t always an ideal long-term situation.

Reunion @ Hub Space can offer a change of pace and space! Our space in the Old School House is filled with natural light, with an open and collaborative floor plan, perfect for focus and a change of scenery.

Our space is well-equipped with: motorised standing desks, large monitors, USB docks and of course a touch of greenery from our hanging plants.

We also have meeting rooms available to book and break out spaces.

5. Benefit from our Location

Reunion @ Hub Space, is in the centre of Belper, with free parking, bike storage, showers and lockers. We are a very easy walking distance from all the amenities Belper has to offer, including shops and cafes, and only a few metres from the bus station.

It saves on travel time and fuel too!

7. Networking Events and Socials

As community hubs, coworking spaces often offer a range of different work and social events. Here at Reunion we run regular community networking events at Reunion Deli, with our members receiving free tickets. We also run social events for our members visiting local venues to interact with each other outside of the office.

If you have recently moved to a new area, attending local networking events held by coworking spaces is a great way to meet other professionals and organisations in the area.

If you don’t need office space but would still like to join our events, we offer a community membership. Find out more here.

8. Reducing your Environmental Impact

Reducing our impact on the planet is important to us at Reunion. Coworking locally can reduce the length of your commute and could allow you to walk or cycle to work instead of driving. Heating one shared office in the colder months is also more efficient than heating multiple homes throughout the day.

Additionally our space at The Old School House was renovated with sustainability in mind and is equipped with electric vehicle chargers and solar panels. Our space is filled with natural light from windows in the roof meaning we are also less reliant on electric lighting.
